Hope in Action with Tracie L. Morgan and Ashley Glimasinski | Serving Immigrants Together Across Faith Lines

As Christians, what does it look like to live out our faith while walking alongside immigrants and communities of other religions? And to do so out of compassion, instead of converting them or debating theology? For Christians, these questions bring fears of compromising their faith. But what if serving those of different religions matters more than converting them?

Working in service of immigrants and refugees regularly places Christians in unfamiliar settings, or requires us to understand what seem like big cultural differences. This episode explores what it means to show up faithfully in those moments, even when they feel unfamiliar or challenging.

We talk through real experiences of working alongside people of different faith traditions, and discuss how they have shaped our own identity as Christians. The purpose of this episode is to provide a space to think honestly about faithfulness, discomfort, and what it means to walk with others, honoring both our convictions and their dignity.

What You’ll Learn from this Episode about Serving Immigrants Together Across Faith Lines:

  • Why the goal of welcoming immigrants should be service, not conversion.

  • The difference between bearing witness and seeking conversion.

  • Why attaching faith outcomes to care for immigrants can undermine dignity and results.

  • How interfaith partnerships strengthen, not threaten, Christian identity.

  • Why curiosity is more faithful than fear in unfamiliar religious spaces.

  • What it means to be a respectful guest rather than a theological expert.

  • How presence and humility communicate faith more clearly than arguments.

About Us

FINAL (2).png

We started this podcast because friends and neighbors were coming to us saying, “I’m seeing all these headlines about immigration, but I don’t really understand what’s going on.” They didn’t have personal connections to immigrants or a legal background—just a sense that something wasn’t adding up. Those conversations showed us a real need for honest, accessible education about immigration law in the Christian community. That’s why we’re here: to make sense of the noise and bring clarity where it’s needed most.
